1975 Pacific Coast League Champions
What a journey it has been for Old Queen Street Stadium. This year marks their fourth year officially being in operation. Coming soon will be a release of their very first shirt. The 1975 Islanders Championship ring design was a concept inspired from the original ring featured in the Honolulu Stadium book written by Arthur Suehiro.
1975 was the final year at the old Honolulu Stadium and the Hawaii Islanders went out in style. They beat Salt Lake City 8-0 to win the teams first Pacific Coast League championship.
The latest rendition will come with a little twist, as it will feature OQSS’s new location at 79 Merchant Street. For those who have their first edition shirt which boasted the 550 Halekauwila Street address, if your are reading this blog, mention this and you can get them for $40.00.
The 8 color screen print was done with help from Aka and his team at Print Proz Hawaii. See details below.
The merch drop will include an olive color t-shirt and sweater and limited quantities of a mauve purple sweater for women. All will be available online and at the museum on July 25, 2025.
This drop is more than just apparel, it’s a nostalgic nod to humble beginnings and a celebration of local stories that shaped local legends.
Many thanks to Kevin Sebastian and Nigel Guerrero for all their help with the photos for this post.
